In any case, There’s no doubt art work depicting any kind of cute cuddly pet will paint a smile across your face every time you lay eyes on it
Cat depiction in art go back thousands of years, Basically as soon as we domesticated these furry little things artists started to feature them in their art.
One of the oldest references we could find is from ancient Egypt (1400 BCE) at the Tomb of Nebamun.

The look on the cat’s face in this portrait is priceless, the background color compliments the cats eye color and to top it off it actually feels like the cat is staring back at you. According to Kriemhild Strobel-Hall the cat in the portrait is “Mietzi”, her personal pet. The painting is not for sale but its surely a pleasure to look at.

This portrait is actually what i imagine my cat thinks he looks like, Mysterious and noble.
It was made in honor of my own personal cat.

There’s something very soothing about this water color on canvas piece by Paul Lovering.
Both the colors and the subjects facial expression instantly makes all my worries melt away.
Vincent Van Gogh inspired portrait
This piece was amongst of the first paintings i’ve encountered.
The portrait is obviously inspired by the famous Oil on Canvas self portrait Vincent Van Gogh created in 1889.
Sadly i couldn’t find out who the artist is.

The only thing better than a painting of a cat is a paiting of 3 cats!
This amazing Water Color piece by Dora Hathazi Mendes features Oliver, Willow and Walter (in order from left to right).
According to the artist this was a commissioned painting for a client.
The Walk – by lolo-ology
When i saw this watercolor pience i totally froze for a second.
There’s something about this amazing work by lolo-logy that immediately grabs your absolute attention.
The artist says there’s just something about cats that makes her want to paint them with watercolors and we’re just glad she feels that way.

This piece came up and instantly caught my eye.
There’s order, there’s chaos there’s soft colors and sharp lines.
I can’t really put my finger on it but there’s just something about this painting that i find mesmerising.
Barely awake
Sadly, we couldn’t find the artist responsible for this magnificent painting.
It was posted on imgur on juky 5th 2016 by Dodgerthehwydog.
The cats pose is a that we all saw our cat at and it’s just so accurate.
The color the artist chose for the eyes is amazing and it really makes the eyes seem as if they are glowing.
